Floating rotors are MTB brake discs directly inspired by motorcycling, constructed from two pieces: a steel braking surface and a central aluminum spider. The system allows for a small controlled movement of the disc, helping to better manage temperature and reducing the risk of warping on long descents. They are especially popular on enduro, downhill, and e-bike bicycles, where brakes are heavily stressed. In addition to the technical advantages, they have also become a valued upgrade for their premium appearance and 'factory racing' look.

From my first Commencal Supreme V3 with 26-inch wheels to the current Supreme V5 equipped with a 38 mm Boxxer D1, I have experienced nearly all the significant stages in the modern evolution of RockShox Boxxer forks. In this article, we discuss how downhill has changed in recent years, the real differences I felt between the generations of Boxxer, why the shift to 27.5 and then to 29" completely altered bike behavior, and what the new Boxxer D2 generation launched in 2026 brings.

The RMU Nighttrain is a gravity bike built around the new Orion suspension developed by Dave Weagle, featuring a 6-bar flexstay configuration with mid-pivot and a dual idler system. The model promises excellent traction, control at high speeds, and pedaling efficiency, being available both as a frameset and in three distinct configurations (Deore, XT Di2, and Saint DH). A rare element in the industry is the geometry and kinematics adapted to sizes, which adjusts the suspension behavior for each rider.
